More information about guild clothing

The history of the guild clothing

As the saying goes, the best work is only as positive as its ingredients. This can also be conveyed with guild clothing, because what good are roofing trousers that are no good in the end. Therefore, one should also put special influence on his guild clothing. The guild clothing is particularly classic, also in their materials. Tens of types of fabric were already used for the guild 100 years ago. There it is something special, if a material is established. For example, FHB was the first manufacturer to use softshell for guild clothing. In the meantime, this softshell jacket has become a new classic. And an experience that you can feel while wearing it.

The formation of the tissues

German leather is a real giant among the guild fabrics. Although strong leather is "exclusively" cotton, this is probably the best cheat of all textiles. And this to the whole 100%. In the time of the industrialization the Englishmen created the predecessor fabric, so that the workers are protected against flying sparks, besides, also from the relatively simple argument, namely to save the substantially more expensive cowhide aprons for the guild clothes. The workers put the finishing touches on their aprons by sanding them down with damp glue. But the Germans did not let this sit, and went one better and constructed the replacement of the leather.... The result was an extremely strong material with exceptionally strong warp yarns and an immense tightness of weft yarns. This is how the first German leather was created. The "leather" has a smooth, slightly shimmering outside as well as a roughened inside. With 600 gr. per M² the German leather is so to speak unbreakable as well as really important. So an absolute colossus moreover optimally to the processing for guild clothes. Due to the type of binding, the German leather unfortunately shrinks in width by about one cm when you think you have to put it in the washing machine. In the Middle Ages, to be exact, in the 18th century, the fabric corduroy was exclusively something for the beautiful and wealthy. Only kings and rich nobles could afford it anyway, corduroy at that time was often sewn only from pure silk. The French agricultural workers, as well as the English miners, needed something as solid as rough instead of the vivid guild clothing made of the kind of fabric. For this reason, they developed on their looms a sturdy corduroy with warp fibers twisted 3 times. As a result, the wire warp was as tear-resistant as well as a common warp. And with up to 100 weft threads per cm, it was extremely pile-resistant, and therefore just right for guild clothing. In this respect, the first "protective clothing" was invented as guild clothing. Guild pants made of this durable corduroy give the wearer a certain protection and a lot say even, a portion of courage. It was worn even by the laborers who stormed the Bastille capital of France, the sailors who conquered at Trafalgar and Luis Trenker during his summit storms, the so-called "king of the mountains". All of them reached the finish line with great success. It is no wonder that the success story of the three-wire cord is so familiar to this day. For the most part, the wandering comrades venture out on their wanderings in this type of corduroy. 3 years and 1 day withstand the pure adventure, no other fabric could.

The traditional manufacturer FHB

An important distributor of  guild clothing is the company FHB, the company has a very wide range of goods. They place special emphasis on the fit. Therefore, the guild clothing is customized according to the special request and extra requests are of course allowed. In the production of FHB the guild clothing is manufactured 100% according to the thoughts of the customers. The selection of fabrics is impressive, you can choose between genoa corduroy, trenker corduroy, rep moleskin, canvas, German leather or twisted double pilot for the individual production. These materials are available in all colors. Since the natural full leather is still the most durable, even extra requests for the personal guild garment are fulfilled.

The handling of the guild clothing

In order for your guild clothes to keep the life they guarantee, it would be relevant to handle them properly as well. Here, a particularly essential reason is the cleaning. In order to preserve the surface structure and the color fastness of a FHB guild clothing, the garment should be cleaned in any case on the left, moreover, the zippers are closed in the process. It is equally relevant not to use fabric softener, as it leaves white discoloration under certain guild clothing. FHB guild clothing strives to limit the shrinkage of fabrics that are produced from 100% cotton with the help of premature sanforization. However, this is not so easy in the case of guild clothing made of very heavy fabrics. That is why it is quite normal and especially inevitable that these have a higher shrinkage. For example, stretching a pair of roofing trousers after washing in a damp state can relieve most of the shrinkage. Guild clothing has a considerable span which concerns the topic clothing. From pants, over craftsman jackets up to safety shoes everything is to be gotten. There are also various types of individual guild clothing. If you take the category of work jackets as an example, you can put the same in different shoe bladders, because close to the quite widespread Trenkercord work jacket there are also fleece jackets or softshell work jackets. The material of a same pilot jacket, which protects the wearer from extreme weather conditions. The laminated membrane does not allow air flow, on the other hand, at the same time water vapor can penetrate to the outside, this is to prevent that one begins to perspire mightily. Because the suppleness of the material is so high, you feel optimized to any condition and feel supreme comfort.
