More information about the Protos forest helmet

Protos safety helmets have been developed over 12 years. The result is probably the best and most comfortable safety helmet there is.

Protos integral head protection made in Austria

Protos Integral belongs to the Austrian company Pfanner. The company is based in Voralberg, Austria. Protos and Pfanner have been completely family-owned since their inception. In doing so, the products are said to offer uncompromising protection. Pfanner had the idea to develop a new type of protective helmet for dangerous work 12 years ago. The development of the helmet therefore also took several years. But this is the only way to guarantee ideal protection for your head and neck. In the beginning, no one was aware that the research would take so much time. In 2014, the result can finally be used on the construction site and in the forest. Pfanner has thus set a milestone in protection. A unique, like-new hard hat with so many features that it puts everything else in the shade. Initially, the idea was only used for forestry helmets. Currently, industrial helmets are also manufactured and sold. The combination of functions of a forest helmet and a climbing helmet is the key to success here. In fact, the perfect protective clothing includes not only a high-quality work jacket or trousers, but also a good head protection! The word "safety helmet" has been put in an extremely different light by Protos Integral and its innovation and technology. With the launch of the various Protos Integral series, Pfanner has filled a gap in the market like never before. The price is high, but it is definitely worth it! You will certainly not find innovation and functionality in any other safety helmet in this sophisticated variant.

Protective helmets from PROTOS are produced sustainably, every component, no matter how small, comes from the region and must travel as short a distance as possible. Production and development take place exclusively in the countries of Austria, Germany and Switzerland, the final production takes place directly at the headquarters of Protos GmbH.

The Protos integral FOREST helmet is ideally suited for the toughest missions and for the most extreme weather conditions. Sophisticated rear ventilation keeps the head constantly cool and dry, the face shield does not freeze at low temperatures and consistently creates clear vision. The uniqueness of the Protos is the integral solution, which has all parts integrated within the helmet shell. Getting caught on branches, bushes, etc. is thus bypassed.

The enhancement of the Pfanner Integral FOREST is the ARBORIST. This safety helmet can be used for climbing operations and tree care within seconds. Parts such as the chin strap, visor, neck guard and hearing protection are modular and integrated into the Protos helmet. The helmet provides a secure hold even in inclined positions thanks to a deep-gripping neck shell.

Constant further development was constantly driven by the owner Anton Pfanner in his production in Koblach. Pfanner had the vision of a perfect head protection that protects the wearer multi-dimensionally from all possible environmental and ambient influences and dangers. Protos Integral means that all accessories for the helmet are located inside the helmet and are therefore integrated. The Protos helmet can be used within a very short time for operations in forestry, tree care and also for climbing operations in steep or impassable terrain. Chin strap, neck guard, foldable visor - with clear, coarse or fine mesh structure - ear defenders can be integrated into the forestry helmet. Of course, all this is modular, which means that a forestry helmet can be upgraded and adapted to the respective requirements at any time.

Protos Integral helmets mean eight times more safety when working in the frost, in the garden or in environments where you also can not avoid clothing from Pfanner. For example, the Protos helmet has the largest field of vision when you examine all helmets on the market with maximum circumspection. From impacts or falls on the back of the head, the neck protection shell protects and prevents the risk of a skull base fracture. The two-tone color combination and the up to 35% larger and visible surface area also ensure significantly increased safety. Thanks to a clever suspension of the inner shell at three points and an integrated crash absorber (on the Protos Integral Arborist), vertical impacts are significantly dampened and the impact is not transmitted to the body. Due to the special design of the Pfanner helmet from Koblach, it can also protect against horizontal blows or impacts and thus creates a special all-round protection of the head. The integrated hearing protection also provides additional protection even in a passive state. Additional reinforcement is also provided by the slider for the ventilation system of the protective helmet, which can take the energy out of a blow even before the main shell.

Of course, Protos Integral helmets not only focus on safety in the forest, but also on lasting comfort and the climate of the inner shell. With the integrated hearing protection, the contact pressure can be adjusted via the size setting and this can be recessed in the inner shell if it is not required. Getting caught on branches and undergrowth is also avoided. Thanks to the neck shell system developed by Anton Pfanner, the helmet sits securely and firmly on the head even without a chin strap. An intelligent ventilation system ensures a constant and adjustable supply of fresh air. The ventilation channels on the top allow the helmet to be optimally adjusted to the prevailing weather conditions. Fogging or freezing of the visor and its field of vision is prevented with certainty. The chin strap has a special guide and cannot slip under the hearing protection. The Pfanner Klima-AIR technology ensures a balanced climate and maximum moisture transport. This is of course a great advantage for safety in the forest. Anton Pfanner has of course developed much more in Koblach, including the patented size adjustment of the Protos Integral. By activating or deactivating the neck shell, the size adjustment once made is precisely adapted to the head. Putting on or taking off is child's play and very quick. All functions of the Protos helmet can be operated with two fingers. Pfanner from Koblach probably had the forestry worker in mind, who certainly always has to have one hand free.

SUSTAINABILITY is a top priority for Pfanner Austria, the manufacturer of Protos integral helmets. Protos products are assembled in Koblach, Austria, with fingers and not by machines, in a pleasant and safe working environment and under the highest occupational safety conditions. The materials are processed under strict environmental conditions for the helmets intregral and forest while the chin straps and air pads come from companies with fair working conditions. For these items in particular, a consistent and assured quality is extremely important and this can best be guaranteed with a local production. Because one thing is certain, the wearer who holds the Protos Forest in his fingers, for example, entrusts his life to this work protection article. New and available immediately is the protective goggle from Pfanner Austria, which can be integrated into all helmets. The Integral safety goggles are available in four different lens colors, clear, black, yellow and orange. The work safety goggles are not only a big plus in terms of eye protection, thanks to their perfect fit they hug the face exactly. The ingenious ventilation system, as for example in the Forest helmet, prevents fogging of the work safety glasses. Of course, this product is once again from the Pfanner Austria think tank in Koblach. Just like the intelligently guided chin strap, which is so well guided in the head protection that it does not disturb the wearer. Occupational safety, made by Pfanner Austria, is an all-around safe thing, even beyond 2014. Because Vorarlberg is one of the most inventive regions in beautiful Austria. And so the mission of Pfanner and Protos is also clear, as Anton Pfanner let it be known in direct contact. This company does not do things by halves, it does not think in quarterly reports but already for generations ahead, the company is focused on sustainable development and the future. At Pfanner in Koblach / Austria, the maximum safety of the helmet wearer and the quality are in the foreground, this company is absolutely specialized in the needs of its customers. Since the environment and the danger is never foreseeable during extreme operations in the forest, tree care, work protection, hunting, tracking and outdoor areas, these people need personal protective equipment that offers the highest protective properties. With the Protos Integral Forest, as with all other models, you are protected from all possible dangers such as blows or falls up to eight times. That is why these models have been developed and tested more like extensively over years. Protos safety helmets like the integral air FOREST comply with EN397, EN352-3 and EN1731 and are therefore ideally suited for the toughest working environments and weather conditions. The strict EN397 standard requires many details such as a chin strap, penetration resistance to a 3kg impact from a height of 1m, shock absorption of 5kg impact from a height of 1m, adequate ventilation or climate environment, weather resistance to -30°C, hearing protection and a protective visor. For those interested in Protos, Pfanner Austria has developed an app that can be used to get in touch via the Pfanner homepage. Here you can put together your own Protos, the iPad or iPhone app is really quite easy to use. Of course you can also send this configuration to GenXtreme by mail, you can find the corresponding contact info on the start page. Pfanner Austria has also put emphasis on a wide choice of colors when creating the Proto. Buyers can choose individual colors and lettering, which of course is also a very big plus.
