More information about Veith

You can always use them in winter, yes sometimes even in summer we wear them. After all, you can never have enough of them. Yes, exactly it is socks that are wanted here. They are made of different materials from different companies. A very well-known company here is Veith. The family business is already processing high-quality socks and stockings for trekking, mountaineering, hunting and traditional costume in the 3rd generation. In order to be able to guarantee the products also a high wearing comfort, the articles consist to a high portion of skin-compatible natural fibers. This also ensures a special longevity of the socks. The exclusively in Germany productions have their strengths especially in high quality trekking socks in hand knit look. Different materials ensure the various conditions that many a sock has to cope with. Merino wool is a very popular material especially among wearers. This is the queen among wool types and is excellently used for the cozy soft socks, whose wearing comfort is the highest. Due to the special fiber structure, the wool is particularly fine, moisture and temperature regulating. Wool is excellently used here at Veith, because it stores a lot of air between its fibers. In some cases up to 85% of the total volume of wool products consists of air. That is why wool insulates so well, because it warms or cools as needed. The interesting thing here is clearly that the interior of the fiber absorbs water, but the surface repels water. Thus, wool can absorb up to 33% of its dry weight in water without feeling damp. Another positive aspect is that wool does not attract dirt so quickly and, surprisingly, hardly takes on the smell of sweat. Wool, which felts under pressure and friction in warm water with the addition of curd soap and thus becomes denser and about 40% smaller, is naturally wind and water repellent. Veith socks have everything you need: warmth, wind and water resistance. So all you can say is: Greetings to your feet!
